Opération Anthropoid

The temporary exhibition Operation Anthropoid tells the story of an attack on the leading Nazi dignitary Reinhard Heydrich on the 27th Mai 1942. Firstly, it explains the operation’s organization by the Czech parachuters. They were under the command of the Czechoslovakian government in exile in London.

Then, the exhibition mentions the measures against the civil population. Reprisals were particularly evident through the massacre of Lidice.

This exhibition has been created by the Museum of Czechoslovak Legions at Prague. It is showed in different places in Belgium thanks to the Czech Ambassy in Brussels. This event commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Anthropoid Operation and celebrates the presidency of Czech Republic in EU (1st July 2022 – 31st December 2022).

The exhibition is freely available until end of August 2023 at the Bastogne War Museum.
