B-17 / Missing in Action Project

This exhibition showcases the parts that were recovered in 2021 from the wreck of the B-17G ‘Bull Session’, an American bomber that was shot down on 14 January 1945 above Wincrange (Luxemburg) by German anti-air on its way to Cologne.

The purpose of the exhibition is to honor the nine members of the aircrew , eight of whom died in the crash and two of whom were never found.

The exhibition not only highlights the technical features of the legendary bomber, but also showcases the vital role it played during the Second World War.

This exhibition was created in collaboration with the ‘Battlefield Research and Preservation Group’ and will be on display in the ‘Bastogne War Rooms’ (Rue de la Roche 38D, 6600 Bastogne) which is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
