NUTS WEEK-END 2025
The Nuts Weekend will take place on December 12, 13 and 14, 2025, at the Bastogne War Museum, the Bastogne War Rooms and the Bois Jacques battlefield
To mark the 81st anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, the Bastogne War Museum is pleased to welcome you to commemorate the sacrifice of the men and women who fought for our freedom.
! FREE ACTIVITIES AT THE BASTOGNE WAR MUSEUM (except the visit of the 4 immersive experiences of the Bastogne War Museum) !
Historical American and German military camps, meet and greet with war veterans, coding workshops on the Enigma Machine, conferences & testimonies, book fairs, workshops on civilian life, concerts, guided tours of the battlefields, bar and catering, and a lot more surprises...
On the day there are also activities taking place in the City of Bastogne.
FRIDAY 12/12/2025 @ BAStogne war museum
- 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM | Opening hours of the three museum sites (including the shop and the Bistrot de la Paix)
- 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM | Presentation of the documentary "Parole de Mémoire" made by the secondary school students of lycée Blaise Pascal (France). As part of the 80th anniversary of the liberation, young people met with people that experienced the war and collected their testimonies.
SATURDAY 13/12/2025 @ BAStogne war museum

- 10:30 AM | Testimony from three Belgian World War II veterans followed by a Q&A.

- 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM | Presentation of the 1st episode ("Tenir à tout prix") of the documentary "Au coeur de la Bataille des Ardennes" with eyewitnesses and journalists and filmmakers of the documentary (all in French). Q&A at the end of the presentation.
- 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (25min per épisode) | Diffusion of the podcast « Lettre V » in French ("Les civils racontent leur Libération")
- 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM | Testimony of Matthieu Niango, author of the book "Le Fardeau", which retraces the journey of his mother, born in the Lebensborn (Nazi maternity home) of Wégimont in 1943 from a Hungarian mother, who emigrated to Brussels and was later transferred, with other babies, to a Lebensborn near Munich.
- 6:00 PM | Presentation of a documentary and its making-of produced by the RTBF and entitled "Ardennes 44 - At the Heart of Hitler's Last Offensive" in the presence of the production team
- All day | Activities in the Reenactment Camp (based on historical American and German military camps)
